“Unmasking The Truth, Part 2” (poem / poetry)

What have I got against face masks? I hear some people exclaim,
Thinking my stance is ignorant, selfish, or something’s wrong with my brain,
However, I’ve done lots of research, I’ve left few stones unturned,
I know it upsets the status quo, but I’d like to share what I’ve learned.

Masks are ineffective, at preventing a viral infection,
For starters their pores are way too big, to offer up any protection,
From 3 to 5000 times larger, than the particles they should obstruct,
Viruses easily get in or out, and the packaging mentions as much.

Wearing them can cause symptoms, such as headaches; shortness of breath;
People have lost consciousness, and sometimes it led to their death;
They can decrease blood-oxygen levels, by gradual asphyxiation;
And recycle carbon dioxide inside us, condensing a toxic creation.

They’re a false sense of security, and I’ve only touched the surface,
It goes beyond trust, they’re now forced on us, I ask, for exactly what purpose?
Because masks endanger human life, they’re a contravention of Article 2,
Of the Human Rights Act, so I demand that, the Face Mask Law be removed.

Do masks protect the wearer and/or others from viral infection? I have found the answer to be, no, as have many Doctors and Virology Experts, who are much more familiar with the science behind this topic than me, and have produced research and findings illustrating just that.

So, why the usage of something actually proven to have harmful effects, and be counter-productive, is now enforced upon us, is beyond me.

If someone having been given all of the facts, (not just what the media has decided to convince us of), chooses to wear a face mask still… more power to them.

I have studied both arguments, and find myself having no faith in the viral protectiveness of masks (for the wearer or others), and am increasingly concerned by the side effects and potential harm they are capable of… so why don’t I have a choice regarding my usage of them also?! It doesn’t add up.

I feel that forced mask wearing will create a viral breeding ground, plus endanger the health and lives of those it’s supposed to protect… this strategy alone could bring about a second wave / significant increases in viral infections and deaths, and for this reason, I am compelled to speak up, an unpopular position, but one that I know I am not alone in.

Love and Respect always,

Following Whispers.

Author: Following Whispers

Hello, I'm Following Whispers, an English poet and author who has been writing for over two decades. I'm a self-professed geek who can get deep sometimes, but I personally don't take myself too seriously, I just love to have fun, plus inspire myself and others. In my early twenties, I realised that beauty can be born out of not only love, but also pain and other motivations. The more I used writing poetry to make sense of my busy mind, the more it helped me to find a silver lining in even the darkest emotions, experiences, observations and topics; find positivity even in the face of extreme negativity; find strength when I was being forced to feel weak; and find hope that my tomorrows would be brighter. I began publishing my writing in 2018 and currently have three books available Worldwide, including my most recent release "Poems That Move You". I have bared my soul in each and every one of my poems, and I'm confident that you'll get just as much from reading them and relating them, as I did from writing them. Please feel free to look around my site and read the free poems I've shared there, after which, why not pick up a book of mine, drop by Instagram, connect with me and say hello!
