“Life’s A Beach” (poem / poetry)

When life gets truly rocky, and you’re feeling overwhelmed,
Know, the strength of perspective, lies within ourselves,
As we stare up at the cliff face, unsure how we should climb,
We forget, that why we’re here is not to jeopardise our lives.

You’re facing the wrong direction, it should be placed behind you,
And as you turn around, you’ll see the gorgeous view, that I do,
That stoney monster won’t last, someday it will erode,
In time, it will simply be… the sand between your toes.

Even the most mountainous of issues will one day be broken down by elemental forces, and repurposed into something that has better associations attached to it. In time, we will feel these broken down obstacles under our feet, and they will no longer be daunting and draining, instead they’ll energise and refresh us.

These are the gifts that patience and an open minded perspective, that seeks out the beauty all around us, can reward us with.

May your worries and pain become the sand between your toes, my friends!

Love and Respect always,

Following Whispers.

Author: Following Whispers

Hello, I'm Following Whispers, an English poet and author who has been writing for over two decades. I'm a self-professed geek who can get deep sometimes, but I personally don't take myself too seriously, I just love to have fun, plus inspire myself and others. In my early twenties, I realised that beauty can be born out of not only love, but also pain and other motivations. The more I used writing poetry to make sense of my busy mind, the more it helped me to find a silver lining in even the darkest emotions, experiences, observations and topics; find positivity even in the face of extreme negativity; find strength when I was being forced to feel weak; and find hope that my tomorrows would be brighter. I began publishing my writing in 2018 and currently have three books available Worldwide, including my most recent release "Poems That Move You". I have bared my soul in each and every one of my poems, and I'm confident that you'll get just as much from reading them and relating them, as I did from writing them. Please feel free to look around my site and read the free poems I've shared there, after which, why not pick up a book of mine, drop by Instagram, connect with me and say hello!
