I waited patiently for you to arrive,
The time came for me to bask in your warmth,
You spoiled me last time, leaving me hypnotised,
So of course, I was eagerly yearning for more.
When we reunited, I perspired excitedly,
Took off my jacket, made plans for your stay,
But you didn’t deliver on what might have been,
Summer, you teased me, then scurried away.

Seriously you guys, get your minds out of the gutter! 😆🤣 I was obviously talking about the utter lack of sunshine, blue skies and warm days, that it’s been our misfortune to experience this Summertime. Having seen so much rainfall, many of us feel robbed, especially when compared to last year’s extended heat wave.
Maybe me and my UK counterparts are alone in our weather experience this Summer, but I get a sense that it’s been a fairly global let down this year, staying very windy, with regular torrential downpours throughout.
If you had a better time of it than the rest of us did, like enjoying a full two weeks or more of glorious, uninterrupted sunshine, please let me know where it disappeared off to!
Here’s hoping that the first half of Autumn makes up for such a wet Summer, but I won’t be holding my breath on that front! Anyway, wherever you are, whatever your recent weather experiences have been, keep shining, my friends!
Love and Respect always,
