“Opportune” (poem / poetry)

When a window of opportunity arises,

Be ready to act, lest someone realises,

And makes use of the moment before you,

Turning what should be yours, into their good fortune.

If you’re not in place, poised to claim your blessings,

The prospect will pass you, and you’ll be left guessing,

What if? Why am I still stuck in a rut?

Be prepared for your future, and trust in your gut.

Good things come to those who are ready to make use of the blessings heading their way.

Don’t waste your money on junk that will just gather dust somewhere, instead, save whatever money you can, so you are eventually able to have both a Security Blanket AND a Prospects Pool. Don’t waste time on something you don’t believe in.

If you want something to happen in your life, take the steps necessary to line it up… be it a perspective change; research and independent learning; putting aside money that you’ll eventually be able to invest; showing how passionate you are; seeking tailored advice, support, grants or crowdfunding; and anything else that will help you secure your dream.

Don’t be your own biggest obstacle, be your biggest aid, my friends.

Love and Respect always,

Following Whispers.

Author: Following Whispers

Hello, I'm Following Whispers, an English poet and author who has been writing for over two decades. I'm a self-professed geek who can get deep sometimes, but I personally don't take myself too seriously, I just love to have fun, plus inspire myself and others. In my early twenties, I realised that beauty can be born out of not only love, but also pain and other motivations. The more I used writing poetry to make sense of my busy mind, the more it helped me to find a silver lining in even the darkest emotions, experiences, observations and topics; find positivity even in the face of extreme negativity; find strength when I was being forced to feel weak; and find hope that my tomorrows would be brighter. I began publishing my writing in 2018 and currently have three books available Worldwide, including my most recent release "Poems That Move You". I have bared my soul in each and every one of my poems, and I'm confident that you'll get just as much from reading them and relating them, as I did from writing them. Please feel free to look around my site and read the free poems I've shared there, after which, why not pick up a book of mine, drop by Instagram, connect with me and say hello!
