I’ve noticed, my alias neglects formality,

You don’t know my name, only my personality,

Sure, you can call me Friend, or Following Whispers,

But, if you’re wondering, my real name is Clinton.

I live in the UK, with my Wife and 4 kids,

I consider myself a Geek, and I’m a sucker for a quiz,

I used to make music, before poetry claimed my heart,

I honestly don’t think me and my pen will ever part.

Some of you know my real name already, but for those of you who had to find out the hard way, sorry I didn’t do this sooner for you! To those of you who were still wondering… you’re welcome! 😉😁

Don’t get me wrong, I still love my alias, I just wanted to provide some clarity. Rather than being just another name in a sea of words, my alias is both a mission statement and a promise to my audience, that I’ll continue to search for truth, challenge myself and share my growth and insight with you all.

So I’ll still follow whispers, still honour my muse,

I’ll draw from my lessons, when speaking to you,

I’ll unsheathe my sword, but not to draw blood,

Just to cut through the fear, and focus on love.

Love and Respect always,

Following Whispers.

Author: Following Whispers

Hello, I'm Following Whispers, an English poet and author who has been writing for over two decades. I'm a self-professed geek who can get deep sometimes, but I personally don't take myself too seriously, I just love to have fun, plus inspire myself and others. In my early twenties, I realised that beauty can be born out of not only love, but also pain and other motivations. The more I used writing poetry to make sense of my busy mind, the more it helped me to find a silver lining in even the darkest emotions, experiences, observations and topics; find positivity even in the face of extreme negativity; find strength when I was being forced to feel weak; and find hope that my tomorrows would be brighter. I began publishing my writing in 2018 and currently have three books available Worldwide, including my most recent release "Poems That Move You". I have bared my soul in each and every one of my poems, and I'm confident that you'll get just as much from reading them and relating them, as I did from writing them. Please feel free to look around my site and read the free poems I've shared there, after which, why not pick up a book of mine, drop by Instagram, connect with me and say hello!
