I’m not Groot, but I am rooted,
Deeply planted, firmly footed,
Stable and nourished, certain of this,
The soil that I occupy’s nutrient rich.
As a struggling seed, I yearned to survive,
Sought out better pastures, started to thrive,
To those wanting blossoms to sprout from within,
Be mindful of the turf you embed yourself in.
I love a good nature themed poem, and if it’s tied into a movie reference or two, even better, so this piece was loads of fun to write (although every poem I write is fun tbh)! 😁
My life is not perfect, but I’m personally in a really good place. I feel like I’m growing as a person every day, I’m drawing so much nutrition and sustenance from my surroundings, which in turn is replenishing and strengthening my mind, my body and my spirit.
I’ll never forget where I came from, but to get here, I’ve had to uproot myself from environments that were dominated by weeds (metaphorically speaking). I concentrated on finding a nice fresh plot of land, then worked on my foundations, pulled out many a weed trying to take root, and now focus on organic growth, with no tricks, no gimmicks, just natural prosperity.
Most importantly, whenever I find sustainable benefits, I share this bountiful harvest with others, through both my writing, and by making an effort to live my life like it’s a warm embrace with the World, and that my friend, is the true circle of life. 😉
