Carefully bolted tight, greased and covered,

Our love is secure, not flaunted or smothered,

It’s not in a pageant, nor seeking a prize,

The title “World’s Greatest”, is felt, not implied.

I pray that we never become big-headed,

Take this bond for granted, or get our bolts threaded,

Future-focused, we don’t dwell on the past,

Encased in titanium, strong, built to last.

Truth be told, I haven’t been the easiest person to live with recently, with several weeks of me being ill, I’ve been and still am in quarantine a lot, plus I’m tired thanks to many sleepless nights, grumpy, unenthused, and generally a pain in the bum.

So, it’s only right that I dedicate a piece, such as this one right here, to my Soulmate, my rock, my beautiful Wife. I love you sooo much! I know I don’t say this enough, but thank you for everything you do! I’m so lucky to have you in my life!

When times get tough, you realise just how important it is to have people you can rely on around you, those that can make you smile no matter the weather, and help to lighten the load.

Do me a favour, make sure your inner circle know just how much they mean to you, don’t delay, tell them now!

Love and Respect always,

Following Whispers.

Author: Following Whispers

Hello, I'm Following Whispers, an English poet and author who has been writing for over two decades. I'm a self-professed geek who can get deep sometimes, but I personally don't take myself too seriously, I just love to have fun, plus inspire myself and others. In my early twenties, I realised that beauty can be born out of not only love, but also pain and other motivations. The more I used writing poetry to make sense of my busy mind, the more it helped me to find a silver lining in even the darkest emotions, experiences, observations and topics; find positivity even in the face of extreme negativity; find strength when I was being forced to feel weak; and find hope that my tomorrows would be brighter. I began publishing my writing in 2018 and currently have three books available Worldwide, including my most recent release "Poems That Move You". I have bared my soul in each and every one of my poems, and I'm confident that you'll get just as much from reading them and relating them, as I did from writing them. Please feel free to look around my site and read the free poems I've shared there, after which, why not pick up a book of mine, drop by Instagram, connect with me and say hello!
