I feel like you’re winning, a worrying statement,
Trespassing, kicking my lungs to the pavement,
My defences are strong, versus general invasions,
But this attack seems like an elimination.
You must be mutating, to do this much damage,
I’ve played by the rules, but they’re not in your language,
I need to find parity, reclaim my Yang-age,
Your Yin is too dominant, must, restore, balance.
I originally began writing this piece, due to currently being ill, in which, to flip a term used in competitive events, I have long surpassed my “Personal Worst” record.
I have been bombarded by multiple viruses at once, but one in particular will simply not budge, despite my numerous, strict efforts to achieve this, it was there to begin with and appears to be growing more prevalent. I can feel despair trying to take root within me.
However, I must remind myself, this is far from the worst thing I could have been be afflicted with, people have suffered for much longer than this, with way worse conditions and pain, and beat unimaginable odds. If they can be strong and keep fighting, then I can.
I would like to dedicate this micro-poem and commentary to all the brave warriors out there, both those battling, and those lovingly supporting someone who is battling a severe illness, syndrome or other life-changing ailment, you all have my utmost respect, my thoughts and prayers are with you.
Stay strong, you beautiful human beings, you are an inspiration to us all, we admire your spirit, and love you more than you could possibly imagine.
Love and Respect always,
