The ancient call has now been made,
The elders and tribe members assemble,
Detailed preparations have taken us days,
Timeless rituals performed, as sacred as temples.
Indigenous rites, in ceremonial dress,
You can feel the presence of our ancestors,
We chant, feast and dance, as spirits connect,
Paying tribute to how much this World has blessed us.
Ancient traditions that put an emphasis on respect, honouring ancestors, maintaining an equilibrium with nature and showing gratitude, these are the traditions I love whole-heartedly.
I often imagine myself being part of these wondrous ritual ceremonies, feeling that direct connection to everything around me, while also nourishing my spirit.
We could all learn a lot from them, that’s for sure.
Love and Respect always,
